How to Write a Tutorial
Always wondered how to write a tutorial? There's no set way, because that would be like saying, "You have to paint the picture this way or it's not really a painting."
SETUP AND MECHANICS
First, unless it's an article, you should have numbered steps. And just to make it look cleaner, add one or two spaces after the number. Making it bold also adds neatness.

Be sure to capitalize the first letter of every sentence, spell check your work, and do NOT use chat speak.

CONTENT
Nobody likes being insulted. If you're going to add good and bad examples of something in your tutorial, make up the bad examples yourself. Don't take a screenshot of somebody's work, because they'll probably send you hate mail if they ever see it.
Make it original. If you're planning on having hundreds of tutorials, it's okay to make basic tutorials that every site has, but if you're not going to have that many tutorials, make sure they're original and something interesting to learn.
Make sure you know what you're talking about. If you just copy and paste a code from a free javascripts website onto your site, make sure you understand it enough to answer questions. People may email you questions about a tutorial, and you need to know enough about the subject to be able to answer any email- otherwise visitors will lose faith in how much you really know.
Don't steal other people's tutorials. This should go without saying, but unfortunately people still steal tutorials. If you're not willing to put in the half hour or less it takes to make a tutorial, you shouldn't be owning a website. Stealing is a crime.
If it's a graphics tutorial, be sure to add plenty of screenshots! :) Make sure, first, that you crop the screenshot, because if you put the WHOLE screenshot on your website, it'll take forever to load.

Keep in mind that this is just a guide to help you with tutorials, and definitely not a set of rules you have to follow. Have fun writing tutorials!
