Make a Smiley Face

Always wanted a mascot?  Now you can make one without worrying about the lineart being fuzzy or blurry.

STEP 1

Okay, we're going to make something simple, like a happy face. :)  Open a canvas size 150 x 150.  Make a new layer.

STEP 2

Click on the Ellipse Tool.

Change your color to a yellow.  Press down shift and draw a circle at the same time (pressing shift makes it perfectly round).  Change your color to black and go to Edit- Stroke (width: 5px, location: outside)

STEP 3

Next make another new layer and click on the Ellipse Tool again.  Draw two smallish narrow ovals for eyes.

Make a new layer.  Draw a fat oval that covers about half the face (and part of the eyes).  Click on the Elliptical Marquee tool and select part of the oval and press delete.  Now take the Move Tool and move the smile up.  See animation for more detail.
