Make Money Online
At some point or other, you've probably wondered if it's really possible to make money online. Well, it is! You just have to sign up for the programs that are actually legit and aren't just a scam (just use common sense- who's going to pay you for reading emails? many of those have viruses..). Here are some tried-and-true websites/affiliate programs you can sign up for and make real money with.
Note: All of these require personal information (your address so they can mail checks) so if you're under the age of 18, you should always ask your parents first.
What is it? Google AdSense is an ad program where you can put banner ads or text ads on your site, and for every time somebody clicks a link, you get money. The ads are based on the content of your website, so for example, most of the text ads on Smiley Helper are for smiley-related things or anything about websites. Oh, and you aren't allowed to click your own ads (they know if you do!).
How much money do you get? Although the going rate varies between advertisers, I've had an average of ten cents a click, with an average of a few dollars a day.
Minimum Payout: $100. It seems like a lot, but if you have a site with a lot of traffic, you can easily make that in a month.

What is it? Cafepress is a site where you can make and purchase your own custom products. There is also a feature where you can start your own store (yes, it's free) and sell products with your designs on them. Cafepress handles the product-making and printing, and all you have to do is put designs on products, then tell everybody about your shop. Cafepress has a base price for every product (how much they get) and you can charge any amount over that, and that's how much you get. Say there was a t-shirt for $10. If you mark it up to $15, Cafepress press gets the base price of $10 and you get the markup of $5.
How much money do you get? You get the markup from each sale (see above). To date I've gotten two checks.
Minimum Payout: $25.

What is it? Text Link Ads is an ad program where your site gets put into a directory of sites for advertisers to look at, and if they buy an ad spot on your page, you get paid (around $20) to have their ad up for a month. You can sign up for that, or you can sign up for their affiliate program where you refer people to sign up (and have their site approved) and you get paid.
How much money do you get? You get $25 for every person you refer, if they sign up and their site is approved. Or you can get around $20 a month for somebody buying ad space on your site.
Minimum Payout: $25. (that's one referral)
